ROBERT W. CHRISTOPH

Robert Christoph is the Founder and President of the Bridgeport based RCI Group and its related companies. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago. Since 1969, Mr. Christoph has been actively engaged in the development, ownership and operations of multi-family residential and commercial properties in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina and Florida; and in the development, ownership and operations of marina properties in Michigan, Indiana, Florida, Massachusetts and Connecticut. His real estate activities and marina developments have raised hundreds of millions of dollars through debt and equity sources. A native Chicagoan, Mr. Christoph is an active civic leader and contributor to the greater Bridgeport, Connecticut area. He is an active co-sponsor and host to many nationally recognized yachting and fishing events such as OpSail 2000, the Southern Ocean Racing Conference, Miami Dolphins Fishing charity event and the Miami Billfish Tournament to name a few.

Robert W. Christoph, Jr. is President of RCI Group. For the past 19 years he has been responsible for directing and overseeing new developments in virtually every sector of the real estate industry. In his position, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the company, overall management of the firm, and the pursuit of new development opportunities and financing activities across all business platforms. Mr. Christoph serves on the Board of the University of Miami School of Architecture MRED+U (Master of Real Estate Development + Urbanism), Board member on the Marina and Waterfront Protection Authority Committee for the City of Miami Beach, Board Member of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, and serves on the Founders Board at Mount Sinai Hospital. Over the years, Mr. Christoph has received numerous honors for his business, civic and philanthropic activities. Mr. Christoph graduated from Central Michigan University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Miami.

MARK SUMMERS

Mark was born in Toledo, OH. His maritime career began as a crew member on a Great Lakes ore freighter in 1979. He has been and is a fully licensed 100-ton Captain by the U.S. Coast Guard and is schooled on all aspects of the construction trades. Prior to joining RCI Marine, Mark oversaw the construction of two 150’ high-speed passenger ferries and the upland terminals from which they originated. Since joining the RCI organization in 2000, Mark’s responsibilities have included $10,000,000 of construction oversight, management and oversight of a 3,000,000 gallon/year marine fueling station in Key West and oversight of the leasing of the newly constructed 20,000 sf restaurant and commercial building. More recently, Mark has concluded the development of a new 74 slip marina located on the Miami River in downtown Miami. Today in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mark is coordinating and overseeing the infrastructure realignment and the 200-slip marina that are the initial phases of Steelpointe Harbor, a 2.5 million square foot project anchoring the harbor in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Steve Tyliszczak, a Bridgeport native, has spent the past 35 years working with nonprofit, government and the private sectors on major infastructure, transportation and development projects in Bridgeport including; Burroughs Community Center, Ballpark at Harbor Yard, Webster Bank Arena, Bridgeport Intermodal Transportation Center Transit Garage, Greater Bridgeport Transit Bus Terminal, Seaview Avenue Transitway, East Bridgeport Development Corridor, P.T. Barnum / East Bridgeport Train Station, and the Steelpointe TIGER II Infrastructure Improvements Project. He has served as the City’s primary liaison to the Federal Transit Administration, Federal Highway Administration and State Department of Transportation. Since joining RCI in 2014 as their Development Administrator in Bridgeport, he has been involved in overseeing various development plans, construction projects and budgets, and works with the various City, State and Federal agencies involved in the development of a 2.5mm sq. ft waterfront-oriented development project known as Steelpointe Harbor. Steve is a founding board member of the Park City Primary Care Center, Burroughs Community Center, Bridgeport American Youth Soccer Organization, and the Fayerweather Island Lighthouse Preservation Committee. A graduate of Leadership Greater Bridgeport, Steve is active in the Black Rock Community Council and serves on the Waterfront Bridgeport Oversight Committee as well as on the Board of Leadership Greater Bridgeport. In 2016, Steve was the recipient of the Jayne Kuchma Leadership Award from the Bridgeport Regional Business Council.

KELSEY C. SMITH

Kelsey began her professional career directly out of college with Bridgeport Landing Development in 2014. Born in Bridgeport, she is a Connecticut native with familiarity with the Fairfield County Region. Kelsey has been instrumental in managing the Steelpointe Harbor Project. With her training background and knowledge, she assisted the office in implementing and maintaining our project management and payment tracking system. A member of the American Planning Association and 2014 winner of the Directors Choice Award for Best MCP Project for her design of a Multi Modal Integrated Transit Payment System from the University of Cincinnati, Kelsey worked in Fairfield, CT Community Economic Development Office where she helped create a demographic and economic profile of the town and was responsible for researching and presenting affordable housing data, prior to joining the BLD Team. She received her bachelor’s degree in Geography & History from Syracuse University and a Master’s Degree in Community Planning (MCP) from the University of Cincinnati College of Design and Architecture, Art & Planning where she concentrated in neighborhood revitalization, site modeling, sustainability, and resiliency planning; and has served as a teaching assistant in ArcGIS.
