Bridgeport Landing Development Provides Thanksgiving Meals to Bridgeport Community for 14th Year

November 22, 2021 – Bridgeport, CT – This Thanksgiving will be more joyful for many Bridgeport families from the Optimus Heath Care Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, which was held on Monday at Hall Neighborhood House. HNH provides valuable services to the East Side community that includes an Early Childhood component, a senior care component, various after school and educational programs, as well as a full-service Optimus Community Health Care Center.

This marks the 14th year that Bridgeport Landing Development (BLD) has partnered up with Optimus Health Care for this tradition in providing the community with Thanksgiving meals.

Through generous donations from Steelpointe Harbor developer, Robert Christoph Jr., Optimus was able to supply over 100 meals. “Thanksgiving is personally my favorite holiday. Nothing is better than sharing a great meal with your family and we want to make sure that the members of our community can also share that feeling,” exclaimed Christoph Jr. “We are we are here to continue our support to the community, just like they have supported us. We want to make sure we all rise, and all do well together.”

Bob Christoph Jr. and Steve Tyliszczak of BLD were on site with the Optimus team to hand out and load up people’s trunks with roasters, fresh and canned goods for clients of Optimus, BCYL, & the Bridgeport Senior Center. Fresh foods were also donated to Hall Neighborhood House which will be cooking Thursday for their clients as well.

“We appreciate Bridgeport Landing Development getting involved and helping us help more people,” said Hall Neighborhood House Executive Director, Robert Dzurenda. “These meals will be distributed to the families of our childcare and also cooked onsite for our Senior Center clients.”

In addition to the distribution on the City’s East Side, the Thanksgiving food distribution included a visit to the East End Food Bank, where it was distributed to others in need. Bobby & Steve were there to take part in blessing the food with East End Food Bank owner and East End NRZ President, Keith Williams, and many other members of the East End community.
