November 22, 2024 – Stratford, CT – This Thanksgiving, hundreds of Bridgeporters will enjoy Thanksgiving meals from the Optimus Heath Care Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, sponsored by Steelpointe Harbor. This year’s contribution marks the 17th year that Bridgeport Landing Development (BLD), the developers of Steelpointe Harbor, have partnered with Optimus Health Care to provide Thanksgiving meals to the community.
In addition to the distribution for Optimus at Boston Avenue in Stratford, the Thanksgiving food distribution included meals for the Bridgeport Senior Center and frozen turkeys and chickens for the East End Community Council Food Bank.
With the donation from Steelpointe Harbor developer Robert Christoph Jr., Optimus supplied 100 meals to its patients and others. “With all the activities going on at Steelpointe, I think it’s important for us to be one with the city and the people of Bridgeport, to know that we are also part of the community, and to continue to grow that bond,” said Christoph.
Christoph was present to help distribute turkeys, chickens, green beans, stuffing, and other food items for Optimus’s clients.
The tradition, which began in 2007, is a testament to the continuity and stability of BLD’s regular community activities. This includes a similar holiday giveaway in December and other contributions throughout the year. About BLD’s community giving Christoph added, “We don’t think that a development like ours survives without community support, and therefore, I want the community to see and feel the impact of the development.”
